I found my driving instructor very engaging and he gave me great advice, especially related to technical manoeuvres, such as reverse bay parking.
My instructor was at all times incredibly supportive, patient and most important of all, he was very encouraging and clear in his instructions .
I liked the fact that the 2 hour lessons gave me the perfect amount of time to practice my driving and improve my technique and that we drive mainly around the test centre routes so I was familiar with the roads.
I would recommend Spot On Driving without any hesitation. From the initial booking process through to the successful passing of my test on my first attempt, Spot On Driving were fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend them to any learners.
I found my instructor was great - patient, willing to answer a lot of questions, and very willing to focus on the items I felt uncomfortable with even if they were not part of the lesson’s plan.
The good thing about my lessons was that there was lots of behind the wheel time, and when needed, having Lex take the wheel and demonstrate how to do the driving correctly. The roundabouts were particularly challenging for me, but Lex reviewed them thoroughly until I felt comfortable. I also liked the birds eye visuals that could be demonstrated on the iPad.
I would definitely recommend Spot On Driving School, particularly for expats who are looking to get their U.K. license. Both my wife and I passed on our first attempts and this would not have happened with the Spot On lessons.
The most important thing to me when I chose a driving instructor was to have someone local, with good reviews and a high pass rate.
Cost was also important to me, and that I got on well and felt comfortable an safe with my instructor and i didn’t get too anxious about having lessons.
At the start, learning to drive was more difficult than I expected. But over time it got a lot easier, especially with the many different ways something could be explained to me.
I thought my instructors teaching methods were good because if I didn’t understand something explained one way, there was always another way it could be explained to make it easier for me.
I’d recommend Spot On because the instructor was understanding, flexible to my needs of what time I needed my lesson and where I needed to be picked up. I also passed in 7 months at the first time I took my test which was incredible.
For me, I don’t think anything could’ve been done better if I’m honest
The most important thing to me was to have a driving instructor what was friendly, reliable, comforting and reassuring. I wanted an instructor with flexibility who calms my nerves and teaches me with confidence. One to really help me. Learning to drive was easier than I expected but I felt more challenged in the beginning.

I booked a Young Driver lesson to learn to drive a car and move away fast. I covered moving away and changing gears in my lesson. I feel really good about my lesson, the most fun thing I did was going fast. I’d recommend a Young Driver lesson to get used to driving a car.

My experience with Spot On has been brilliant, and my instructors have been so patient. I am grateful for them putting in the time to help me pass.
Although convenience of location was my original selection criteria for Spot On Driving School, in the end, I was pleasantly surprised by the interest shown, and time commitment made, by my instructor, Alex, to ensure I would successfully pass my practical. For context, I am 70+ yrs old and have driven in the States for well over 50 years. Alex’s tasks, which he performed admirably, were (a) to help me eliminate driving habits which would cause me to fail the practical, such as signal/mirror sequencing, and (b) to adapt test-acceptable driving methods, for example, proper lane positioning and signaling to enter and exit roundabouts. My success on my first practical was directly due to Alex’s excellent performance as an instructor and for that reason I would urge others to consider Spot On when the time comes to obtain a UK driving license.
It was very important to me to have a driving instructor who's very patient, friendly and helpful. I thought I would never learn to drive because I'm very nervous. I didn’t expected that my driving instructor would be so very patient and keep on encouraging me to drive safely. I found my driving instructor’s teaching methods are very helpful. Eddie was encouraging and overall excellent. I would highly recommend Spot on Driving School because they help you from the very start with your theory test, and all the way through until your driving test. Spot On is an excellent school and has excellent driving instructors.
Choosing an instructor who would be patient with me the most important thing about learning to drive for me. I also needed someone who’d be able to fit lessons around work. Learning to drive was easier than I expected and I found my instructors teaching methods were good. I’d recommend Spot On because Mike helped me when I was anxious. I now feel confident beyond the wheel.
I heard about the theory workshops soon Facebook. I wanted to learn all about the theory and thought that Ann-Maries teaching methods were good. She took her time to explain and ,make sure I understood. I think the most interesting part was learning about the Documents. I’d recommend others come to a theory workshop, it was a a good course.
My main consideration this time around was finding an instructor who was available for what I thought was last minute pre-test tuition.
Ideally the instructor would be professional, quick to find faults in my driving and to find a solution, patient and friendly.
After taking two tests in Norwich you would have thought I was up to a good standard driving wise. When starting my 30 minutes of driving with Eddie it was quite obvious that I had no idea how to actually drive with regards to finding the biting point as previously learnt in a diesel, as well as many safety checks deemed unsafe. So after many hours of driving under my belt, I then had to (with the help of Eddie) change my previous habits and retrain my brain in order to obtain a safe driving standard. With this all going on in a new area, it is safe to say that it was one long, testing weekend for both myself and Eddie.
Eddie was calm throughout my time under his supervision. He was clear with instructions, and extremely good at finding the faults in my driving if it is regarding the clutch, gas, road markings and observations. He calmly identified the issue, found the solution and tried to convey it to me, if I did not understand he would go at it from another direction until I fully understand what he meant. His teaching methods worked. Over the space of 3 days, I started at a stable but unsafe mess to a solid pass. So thank you again, Eddie.
For all the reasons above (and many more) I would 100% recommend spot-on-driving to anyone. If you deem yourself a confident driver and need a little extra help, or if you have been putting driving off for whatever reason, pick up the phone and give them a call.
As I cannot fault Eddie at all, he has worked a miracle over this weekend getting me not only a pass but also up to a good safe driving level.
I heard about this course through Facebook adverts and booked on to a 10-hour course to help me to pass my theory test. Ann-Marie’s teaching methods were very helpful. The most interesting thing I learnt on the course was the difference between the shapes of road signs. I’d recommend a Spot On theory course because it’s given me so much help and confidence. I can’t think of any way the course could be improved. Ann-Marie couldn’t have been more helpful.
Colin from spot on driving school has really helped me to gain confidence with my driving lessons. His patient and calm manner has helped me to focus and has helped me to learn and progress. Colin always gives me positive feedback during and after the lesson, and comments regularly on things that I am doing well, which helps to keep me confident and relaxed during the lesson.
When learning to drive I wanted an instructor who would teach me to be a safe driver, and I wanted to feel like I was always making progress in my lessons. Learning to drive wasn’t as nerve wracking as I expected. My instructors teaching methods were thorough, helpful and they made sense to me. The most fun thing I did was moving with a bit of speed and doing a U turn. I’d recommend a lesson like this because it makes it easier when you are older.
I feel really good about my Young Driver lesson with Candy Hardcastle. I managed to cover moving and stopping, clutch skills, steering skills and the turn in the road manoeuvre....all in one session!!! I really enjoyed doing a U turn I’d definitely recommend one of these lessons because it’s useful and fun!
Today I have done Advanced Roundabouts in Yeovil. On top of this I have gone through the McDonalds drive-through. I have enjoyed my lesson and Ann-Marie is always extremely helpful.
Candy is a fab driving instructor! Our lessons are always fun and enjoyable, while still learning a lot. Throughout my lessons I have gained confidence with my driving abilities.
I have been having lessons with Candy for about 2 months now and i have thoroughly enjoyed them so far. She is very understanding and adapts to suit my needs such as the timing for the lesson and where to be picked up from which is really helpful. She is really friendly and i get on with her really well.
I had a lesson with Candy today and I’d definitely recommend Young Driver lessons with Spot On. I covered prepping the car, clutch control and clutch control as well as fixed and pull push steering. I really enjoyed doing the clutch control skills.
I learnt how to move and stop a car, change gear, reverse and turn the car around. I enjoyed the lesson because I learnt how to drive and I didn’t crash! I’d recommend having a Young Driver lesson.

I went from struggling to steer round a roundabout to driving from Gillingham to Mere in one lesson. Candy talked me through and I felt confident and safe throughout it. Definitely recommended!
I went on a 3-hour Theory Test course with Spot On. I booked it to make me feel more confident about my theory test. The instructors teaching methods were very useful and the most interesting part for me was learning about how to do the Hazard Perception test. I’d recommend doing a theory course because it made me feel more confident, and I’ll suggest it to my friends.
I knew I was going to use Spot On because my mum knows Ann-Marie and that she has a good reputation. It was important to me that Spot On has a good pass rate. There was a lot more to learn about learning to drive than I thought there would be, but I covered everything and found my instructors teaching methods were very good. I would recommend Spot On because I kept on improving throughout my lessons and passed on my first attempt with lonely 1 minor fault.
We can’t give enough praise to Spot on driving. Our son passed the theory test at his first attempt after having two one to one sessions with Ann-Marie. The practical test was passed yesterday, again at his first attempt. After each lesson the feedback was given of how each lesson went and the progress being made. He found the eLearning very helpful. From start to finish the company have been thoroughly professional regarding timekeeping etc,and we would highly recommend them without hesitation to anyone thinking of booking Spot on Driving.
I’m enjoying my lessons with my Spot On instructor because I feel like she is very understanding and supportive of me in managing my nerves during my lessons. I am gaining confidence every lesson as I feel she makes me feel safe and I am learning to be a safe and independent driver. She is great at explaining and helping me understand how I can improve when I have made mistakes.
Having an understanding instructor, who I got on with, was really important to me when I was choosing which instructor to teach me to drive. It was also important that my instructor have patience with me to get rid of my mistakes and move on from them. During my lessons I realised that Ann-Marie was all calm with any mistakes I made. Her teaching methods were helpful and she kept them easy and simple to understand. I had lessons with other Spot On instructors as well, and I’d recommend them all. I had two 2-hour Theory Test lessons with Spot On, and got support leading up to my test. I found the lessons were helpful and I got more understanding about the questions. They helped me get through it and showed me how to answer each question. I learnt a technique for clicking for the hazard perception clips. I knew what I was looking for but the lessons helped me to know more. I found Ann-Marie really helpful and I’d definitely recommend Theory Test Lessons with Spot On. I passed my theory test 1st time!

When I was choosing a driving school to use, my most important criteria was that I receive quality teaching and that my instructor was attentive and friendly. I’d heard of others who were learning with Spot On and they were all good reviews. I’d heard that they were both reliable and very professional. Spot On Driving have a good name and a good pass rate. They have and follow a proper syllabus to complete lesson to lesson. Learning something new is bound to be hard at first. It didn’t come as naturally to me as I thought it would. I got really good practice and extra lessons leading up to my test which helped me to pass! Ann-Marie’s teaching methods were excellent. She picks up on little things so that they don’t turn into bad driving habits. I’d defiantly recommend spot on. Ann-Marie is really good at working out which methods of learning are good for you. I can’t think of anything that could have been done better. I was nervous before my test, but knew I’d covered what I had to learn and could demonstrate good driving in my test.
My husband had a theory lesson last night and he feels so much more confident about going into his test tomorrow. I would highly recommended these lessons. He will definitely have another if he doesn't pass this time, but hopefully he will.
I covered gears, clutch control and pull push steering in my lessons today. I really enjoyed chasing gear and feel good about getting into 4th gear. I'd definitely recommend Young Driver lessons with Spot On Driving.
I worked on gear use today, and slowing from 3rd and 2nd gear to use the controlled roll. I really enjoyed my lesson and the fact that I'm not scared of using the gears. I would recommend my instructor Candy Hardcastle and Spot On Driving for Young Driver lessons.
I learnt how to do an Emergency Stop in my lesson today. The thing I enjoyed the most about my lesson was being able to make 'Toothless' fly when I stopped sharply enough! I'd definitely recommend Spot On Driving for Young Driver lessons.

I chose Spot On to teach me to drive from a recommendation from a friend, who was also learning with Spot On. I found that my driving lessons with were excellent. I would recommend because I learnt to drive well, and not just to pass my driving test.

I chose Spot On Driving because I wanted to learn to drive safely and confidently. Also I wanted to have a friendly instructor. I found learning to drive to be a lot more fun than I expected with my driving instructor Ann-Marie Winterburn. Her teaching methods were brilliant, they were clear to follow and to remember. I'd definitely recommend Spot On Driving because I feel that Ive been taught to be ready to drive safely on my own.
The most important thing when choosing a driving school was that I found an instructor who was efficient, professional and organised. I also wanted a friendly instructor from a driving school that had a good success rate. While learning to drive I realised that a lot of the basic skills I learnt initially can be used for more complex, advanced driving. Ann-marie’s teaching methods were extremely useful and effective. I was impressed with the resources available to me through Spot On Driving. I would recommend Spot On Driving to others because the instructors are very qualified, provide a lot of learning resources and are friendly.

I also needed an instructor who can deal with very nervous and anxious learners. I found learning to drive a lot more nerve wracking, stressful and harder than I thought it would be. My instructors teaching methods were amazing! I ended up with a full week of lessons which really helped me. I would not have passed today if it wasn't for Ann-Marie. I'd recommend Spot On Driving to everyone. I've had a lot of other instructors and I found that Ann-Marie's teaching methods make the most sense.
